Commitee and sections of 1st Woodlawn Group

Group Committee
Membership: Adults who are interested in the administration and support of the local Scout Group. 
Areas of responsibility:
  • Ensuring space is available for sections to meet
  • recruiting and interviewing leaders
  • overseeing finances
  • coordinating fundraisers
  • maintaining communication with the sponsor, and with Dartmouth Area 
Meeting night: Second Monday of the month.
Members:

Beavers: ages 5 - 7
Groupings: Each colony of Beavers has its own meeting time, place and leaders. Our Colonies meet at 6:30 for an hour. The Beavers of one Colony are organized by smaller working groups called lodges.
Law: A Beaver has fun, works hard and helps his/her family and friends.
Promise: I promise to love God and to help take care of the world.
Motto: Sharing, Sharing, Sharing

Cubs: ages 8 - 10
Groupings: Each Pack of Cubs has its own meeting time and place, and leaders. The Cubs of one Pack are organized by smaller working groups called sixes.
Law: The Cub respects the Old Wolf,
The Cub respects himself/herself.
Promise:
I promise to do my best
To love and serve God,
to do my duty to the Queen;
To keep the law of the Wolf Cub pack,
And to do a good turn for somebody every day.
Motto: Do Your Best.

Scouts: ages 11 - 14 (optionally to 16)
Groupings: Each troop of Scouts has its own meeting time and place, and leaders. The Scouts of one Troop are organized into smaller working groups typically of six Scouts called patrols.
Law: A Scout is helpful and trustworthy,
kind and cheerful,
considerate and clean,
wise in the use of all resources.
Promise:
On my honour
I promise that I will do my best
To do my duty to God and the Queen
To help other people at all times,
And to carry out the spirit of the Scout Law.
Motto: Be Prepared.

Venturers: ages 14 - 17
Groupings: The youth registered in this level of the Scouting program are called Venturers, not Ventures.

Each Venturer company meets as a unit. Because of the age of Venturers, they are given considerable decision-making power to decide their own activities, under the supervision of a Venturer Advisor.

Rovers: ages 18 - 26

Knights of the Crimson Cross Rover Crew

Groupings: Each Rover crew meets as a unit. Because of the age of these young adults, they are quite independent, and carry out their own program, with the assistance of an Advisor.
